Q: Is the Wobble Light
weather proof?
A: No. While the Wobble Light will work outdoors and can perform during inclement weather, it is not water tight. It is recommended that a GFCI extension cord be used with the Wobble Light as an added safety measure when using it outdoors or near water.
250 Watt Metal Halide (WL250MH)
Watts = 250
Amp Draw = 2.25
Units per 15amp circuit = 6
Units per 20amp circuit = 8
400 Watt Metal Halide (WL400MH)
Watts = 400
Amp Draw = 3.6
Units per 15amp circuit = 4
Units per 20amp circuit = 5
500 Watt Halogen (WL500H)
Watts = 500
Amp Draw = 4.5
Units per 15amp circuit = 3
Units per 20amp circuit = 4
Q: Sometimes the metal
halide Wobble Light will not start. Why is this?
A: Metal halide bulbs need to warm up before they start. In addition, they need to cool down for 15 minutes after they have been turned off, before they can be switched on again. This is a known attribute of the halide bulb and is due to its internal chemistry.
Its important to wait a few moments after plugging the halide units into a power cord. Do not switch them on immediately. If you inadvertently switch if off before it has a chance to warm up, you will have to wait for the light/bulb to reset.

Q: How many Wobble Lights
can I string together in series?
A: The number of units that can be strung together depends on the AMP draw from the lights and the AMP rating of the circuit they will be drawing from. Each Wobble Light draws a different amount of AMPS. Use the following list to determine the number of lights that you could string together on your circuit:
120 Watt Fluorescent (WL120F)
Watts = 120
Amp Draw = 1.5
Units per 15amp circuit = 10
Units per 20amp circuit = 13
175 Watt Metal Halide (WL175MH)
Watts = 175
Amp Draw = 1.58
Units per 15amp circuit = 9
Units per 20amp circuit = 12
Q: Can the Wobble Light
be serviced?
A: The Wobble Light is designed to last a very long time. However, the following parts can be replaced: Dome, bulb, socket, shock disk, and switch. The rest of the electrical parts are not accessible for replacement. Contact the service department at
service@wobblelight.com or call 1-877-707-0800 for more information.
Q: Does the Wobble Light use standard bulbs that can be bought anywhere, or do I have to buy special bulbs from Wobble Light?
A: Most Wobble Lights use standard double envelope metal halide bulbs. However, the Fluorescent & Halogen models use special proprietary bulbs.
The fluorescent bulb is spiraled to increase the amount light output and has a unique inner reflector to also increase light output.
The halogen bulb is a proprietary double envelope design that increases the durability and allows the end user to handle the bulb without worrying about depositing dirt and oils onto the quartz tube. Dirt and oil deposits can cause standard halogen bulbs to burn out prematurely.
Q: The fluorescent Wobble Light will not start when it is very cold. Why is this?
A: The fluorescent model is
affected by temperature. It is not recommended for cold-climate outdoor use or for use in unheated buildings in the winter.
